Problems
with steering in driving games.
Test the steering in the Input/Output test.
Check whether the steering produces the correct values in the left,
center and right position. If not readjust the steering potentiometer
as described in the operation manual.
Turn the steering wheel slowly and see if the
values are changing smoothly. Jerky changes could mean a faulty
potentiometer.
If the value does not change at all, check
whether there is +5V connected across the outside terminals of the
potentiometer. Measure the voltage directly across these terminals.
This way you are making sure that both the ground wire and +5V wire
are connected to the pot.
The voltage on the center terminal should
vary as you turn the steering. If not the potentiometer has to be
replaced.
