Scud Racer - No
Motion.

It is important to realize that an optical encoder is attached
to the motor in Scud Racer. This encoder needs to be carefully adjusted for it's
home position (when the cabinet is in the middle). Whenever the motor is
disengaged from the belt this adjustment is completely lost and the encoder must
be readjusted. The encoder wheel is under the black plastic cap on the top of
the motor. The wheel is secured with a small grub screw which has to be loosen
up to make this adjustment. Note that there are three opto sensors - two for
reading the perforation of the encoder wheel and the third one hidden under the
encoder wheel for detecting the home position. Adjust the wheel so that the
little arm is triggering the home opto when the cabinet is in the middle. Make
sure that the encoder wheel is not physically touching any of the opto sensors
while spinning. DO NOT CARRY OUT THIS ADJUSTMENT IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE A
SIMILAR ADJUSTMENT BEFORE. IT IS EASY TO DAMAGE THE ENCODER.
This is certainly not something you want to rush to do. There
maybe other reasons why the motor is not working and they should be investigated
first.
