Converting machines to dispense tickets

Convert Video Game

1. Using a coin switch to initiate ticket payout.

An example of a coin switch operating opto isolated Game Drive Input. Pin 11 of JST 12 Connector is connected to +5V, the coin switch is connected to pin 10 of JST 12. For Deltronic 1275 the output is set for continuous operation however the input must be set for pulse operation.

NOTE:

1. that the GND is connected to the black wire (pin 6 of JST 8) and the +12 V is connected to the orange wire (pin 8 of JST 8) of the standard lead.

2. if opto isolation is not required the coin switch can also be connected directly to pin 3 of the JST 8 connector (Game Drive Input).

2. Connection to a pinball machine.

Ticket payout triggered by a single solenoid.

This is an example of a solenoid connected to the Opto Isolated Game Drive Input. The positive side of the solenoid (+50V) connects to pin 12 of JST 12 connector. The other side of the solenoid connects to 10 of the JST 12 connector.

NOTE:

that the GND is connected to the black wire (pin 6 of JST 8) and the +12 V is connected to the orange wire (pin 8 of JST 8) of the standard lead. Dip switch 7 set for pulse input operation.

Solenoid connected to the Opto Isolated Game Over Input

This simple arrangement allows adding the Ticketflex Maximizer to an existing ticket dispenser working in continuous input operation. It takes advantage of the Bonus Start mode where additional ticket payout can be initiated by pulsing the opto isolated game over input.

Connect the +50V from the solenoid to pin 12 and the other and of the solenoid to pin 1 of the JST 12 connector. Loop together pin 11 and 4 of the JST 12 connector.

Using multiple solenoids to trigger ticket payout.

It is possible to connect several solenoids to the Maximizer where each of them can initiate the ticket payout.

If the Game Over input is used the Maximizer would have to be set to Bonus Start mode. If the Sol . 3 is for example a "Knocker" number of tickets may be issued at the Replay Level as per the dip switch adjustment for Bonus Start. The other solenoids (Sol 1 & 2) would dispense 1 ticket every time they’re pulsed.

NOTE: To isolate the solenoids from one another it is necessary to add a diode to each solenoid as it is shown in this diagram (D1 & D2). The Sol.3 is the only solenoid connected to the Game Over Input therefore no diode is necessary. Dip switch 7 is set to pulse input operation.

If the Game Over input is not used and all solenoids are connected to the Opto Isolated Game Drive input the Maximizer can be set to any other mode (i.e. Divider, Multiplier, Timed Bonus etc.) to achieve desired ticket payout.

Issues to consider when connecting the Maximizer to a Pinball Machine.
